About Us

Our Mission:

"To cultivate exposure to, participation in, understanding and enjoyment of a broad spectrum of authentic Irish culture, both past and present, by way of an annual Eugene Irish Cultural Festival."

Why do this festival?

Lane County is rich in Irish music and other Irish artistic expression. Irish "jams" take place weekly in town clubs, a local shop is tailored to Celtic heritage with Celtic clothing and memorabilia, and one of Lane County's most popular specialty shows on public radio is the Celtic show "Mist Covered Mountain" on KLCC. A new radio show "Celtic Quilt" airs on KRVM-fm. Over 10 per cent of residents of Lane County identify themselves as partially or fully being of Irish heritage (Van Bloem, 2000).

Eugene Irish Cultural Festival

The Eugene Irish Cultural Festival is a non-profit organization run by a steering committee staffed by people who have an incredible passion for Irish culture and volunteer all of their time to organize this festival.

If you are interested in being a member of the steering committee, email Peggy Hinsman.
