11:00 Playing Guitar at an Irish Session Workshop-Brian Miller-
This workshop is for those who know how to play guitar but are new to Irish sessions, but anyone is welcome to attend. An Irish session is a gathering of musicians and singers who play and sing Celtic and other music together. Learn different rhythmic techniques for jigs (double, slip and slide), reels, hornpipes, polkas and/or waltzes, typical progressions of chords for the most commonly used keys (e.g. G Major), session etiquette and DADGAD tuning. Bring your guitar. You are welcome to bring a recording device, and notebook and pen/pencil for taking notes.

Irish Songs in Irish and/or English Workshop-Brían Ó hAirt-
At this workshop, you will learn three or more Irish songs in either the Irish language, English language or songs in both languages. People of all ages are welcome to attend this workshop. You are welcome to bring a recording device, and notebook and pencil for taking notes.

Playing Traditional Irish Music on Flute and Whistle Workshop-Sean Gavin-
Learn at least three traditional Irish tunes, ornamentation and how to vary tunes on Flute and/or Whistle. This workshop will be taught at the level for those who know how to play flute (Irish or classical) or whistle, but anyone is welcome to attend. Bring your flute and/or whistle. You are welcome to bring a recording device, and notebook and pencil for taking notes.

Playing Traditional Irish Music on Fiddle Workshop-Devin Shepherd-
This workshop will be taught to those who know how to play violin/fiddle and learn by ear and who play at the intermediate to advanced level on fiddle. All levels of fiddle players are welcome. Learn three traditional Irish tunes, along with ornamentation and now to vary tunes. Bring your fiddle/violin. You are welcome to bring a recording device, and notebook and pencil for taking notes.

Basket Weaving ($8 supply fee)-Sheila Tasker-

Must be 15 or older. Taught for beginners, but all levels welcome. Seagrass Baskets are wild, whimsical, or practical and are fun to make. In this workshop you will create a twined basket, a unique accent for your home or as a gift. Materials will include: Seagrass cord, various shells and other embellishments. $8 supply fee which includes all the materials and hand outs. Please bring Scissors, an Awl, a Spray Bottle and an Old Towel. Sheila will have some to share.

12:30 Uilleann Pipe Workshop-Eliot Grasso-
Eliot Grasso has a Ph.D. in Musicology and is an Adjunct Instructor of Musicology at the University of Oregon. His master’s is from the University of Limerick, Irish World Academy of Music and Dance. He has nine entries in the upcoming Encyclopaedia of Music in Ireland as well as several articles published in Iris na bPiobairi. Eliot has been playing and teaching the Uilleann Pipes for many years.

Learn to Draw Celtic Knots Workshop ($3 supply fee)-Anne Merydith-
Anne Merydith has been a member of the Valley Calligraphy Guild for many years and has been teaching Calligraphy and other workshops. Anne has taught this workshop several times at the Eugene Irish Cultural Festival and is an excellent teacher. There is a $3 supply fee for graph paper, pencil and marker.

1:00 Celtic Duo-Jodie St. Clair (fiddle) & Terry Orbeck (guitar)-
Jodie St. Clair is the director and owner of the Eugene Suzuki Music Academy where she teaches violin and fiddle using the Suzuki method. Terry Orbeck has been playing musical instruments since a young child. Jodie and Terry will perform wonderful Celtic music.

Turlough O'Carolan Performance and Presentation-The Eugene Recorder Ensemble-
Learn about the life of Turlough O'Carolan, who is considered to be one of Ireland's finest composers and hear several of the tunes he composed and why the tunes were composed. The Eugene Recorder Ensemble includes soprano, alto, tenor and base recorders, along with viola de gamba and percussion.
Ceili Dance
-Maldon Meehan-
A Ceili Dance is an Irish Social Dance, similar to contra dancing, square dancing, Renaissance dancing, and Scottish and English country dancing. Maldon Meehan is an awesome Ceili Dance instructor and will teach you step by step how to do each dance.

Irish Stories-Yvonne Younge-
Yvonne Young has been a story teller for three decades, starting in the early 1980s. She serves as Oregon State Liaison to the National Storytelling Network, and is a member of The Healing Story Alliance. In 1997 Yvonne participated as a storytelling delegate from NSN on the People to People tour to Gencun Village in China. Yvonne performs at schools, community events, libraries, and festivals. She is author of the ABC of Storytelling,・published by The National Storytelling Press in A Beginner's Guide to Storytelling.

About Traditional Irish Music-Peggy Hinsman-
Learn about the instruments used to play Irish trad in Ireland, their history, different types of tunes, and regional styles of playing music in Ireland. Peggy has been playing traditional Irish music on recorder, fiddle, bodhran and whistle for close to two decades and has read many books about traditional Irish music and has been to Ireland and played at sessions there and almost every week in Eugene.

Linda Danielson plays fiddle and Janet Naylor plays harp. They will play tradition Irish/Celtic music. Joe Kasik, who plays flute and whistle, will join them for a set or two.

Genealogy Workshop - Resources for Tracing Your Ancestors Back to Ireland-Dawn Carlile-
Dawn will show you many resources for tracing your ancestors back to Ireland. It is recommended that those who attend this workshop are aware of their ancestor's names, but everyone is welcome to attend. You are welcome to bring a recording device, notebook and pen/pencil for taking notes, although it may be a bit dark for writing so you can see the screen to which Dawn is projecting her presentation.

Each winter term at the University of Oregon, harpist Laura Zaerr teaches a Celtic music class. Ceili Mhor is the group of students taking this class and will perform traditional Irish music on several different instruments.

Alan Ash has 29 years of experience in masonry. He is a certified Dry Stone Mason by the Dry Stone Conservancy of Kentucky and a professional member of the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain. He has also done Masonry Restorations of over 50 National Historic Registration Houses, including this Irish cottage below.

Geraldine Murray owns and teaches Irish Dancing at the Murray School of Irish Dancing in Portland, Oregon. Geraldine as been involved in Irish dance and music for over 40 years and is certified by An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha (The Irish Dance Commission) in Dublin, Ireland, since 1995. She’s a member of the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America and the Western US Region of Irish Step Dance Teachers where she currently serves on the board of directors as the Western US Regional Secretary.
